The front depicts the laureate bust of Antoninus Pius facing right, inscription ANTONINVS AVG PIVS PP IMP II / The back shows the goddess Annona standing left holding corn ears over a modius in her right hand, rudder on the prow of a ship in her left, inscription TR POT XXI COS IIII SC.
Huge 30 mm, weighs 23.10 grams! Literary/scholastic reference: RIC III 981 for type. Deep olive-green/brown patina. Ex De Pere, WI collection. This would make an excellent and impressive gift!
